Termination of Chick Speak

Hello all (not that there are very many visitors out there)

I am sad to announce the termination of Chick Speak.

It has served its purpose well and has been an excellent blog housing the various emotions of your truly. However, due to various reasons I no longer feel comfortable baring my soul to the big bad world out there and have taken security in an alternate online community of users in which i can keep the worst of my gripes locked away. Blogger also has a number of shortcomings Ive dealt with for long enough.

enough said,

Adieu.

okies.. i noe i havent been updating here much. it is rather hard to maintain two blogs at one go. at least dis blog here has been spared my mad ranting over the past week about all things concerning the world lit. see the thing is if i update all my mad ranty posts on life journal i actually get comments and ppl hu like sympatise with me. which u noe.. is realli not too bad a booster. plus dere are other fellow LJers who also posts pretty frequent mad ranty posts about all things IB.

point is...

ITS FINISHED!!!!

yes.. i had 2 1/2 hours of sleep last night and managed to write my effing draft in one night. i swear im never doing this again. i completely fell asleep during bio today which was sucky cuz it was a HL class and ppl like chudders and arlie are like mad smart bio freaks i just feel soo stupid. scrap that.. i dun feel stupid. i am stupid.

poor michelle.. she oni got bout the same amount of sleep as moi but cuz she changed her topic half way thru last night she's oni written bout half of it. ohh.. m sure she'll go allrite. she's like smart lit genius anyways.

girls' night out

last night was groovy ass fun. we painted the town red.

well.. i had a good time anyways. and i hope everyone else did too. we went to cafe greco on chapel for dinner. they have the most mouth-watering deserts dere... when we arrived which was close to 8, it was still actually pretty quiet. but yea.. we ordered and had pizza, fettucine carbonara, caeser salad and a grilled plate between the 6 of us. a good thing we cancelled the second pizza and the calamari rings.. as there was plenty to eat oledi. and dat saved us some room for dessert. so yea.. dinner was good and the company was awesome. we yakked heaps and i thought it was awesome to just catch up and not think about school for one good night.

we were there for quite a bit i reckon.. and ppl started coming as it got later.. probs for desert and coffee and cafe greco became a bit more happening.. but yea.. we left pretty soon after, just as things were more or less heating up. took a stroll along chapel to walk off the mud cake and tiramisu.. ambience was pretty good. chapel is happening kiddos. but all we could do was gawk at some of the realli awesome lounges on chapel as oni tash was of age amongst us. and sarah had fake ID on her. :( we were dressed right tho. sigh

this time next year.. steph will be there. we will be sitting in there sipping on our cosmos and chatting up those hot hot dudes in there.

ahh. wishful thinking.

so anyways.. after our little stroll decided to head back.. trams were pretty efficient that night and we arrived at gf at around 10.30.. popped into safeways and picked up a pack of smirnoffs.. during which we got away without being IDed again.. muahaha. well.. tash was wif us.. except she didnt have her starcard wif her den. but yea.. as usual.. urs truly was the one who picked up the drinks and laid them on the counter. lol. it was like.. the youngest and oldest were the ones that got sent in.

trams took quite a while to arrive after and the next one oni rocked up at like 11.00pm. we arrived at nat's in about 10-15 mins which was good.. cuz lyn and tash had to be back at midnight cuz they wre doing the info mornings today. but yea.. sat around outside in nat's backgarden and shisha-ed and downed our smirnoffs... opened up the drinking games cards the girls got me (much appreciated me chicas!) and had heaps of fun. fizz buzz close to midnight wif everyone intoxicated was hilarious. and mind you the black ice smirnoffs we had last night were like 1.9 std drinks.. but yea.. tash and shinny shish-ed for the first time.. and tash was such a natural at it whilst shinny was like.. coughing and spluttering.. lol

at around midnight, lyn and tash were sent back by michelle and we watched corpse bride. during which i promptly well asleep.

nothing new there.

so yea.. all in all yesterday's been good. and it was aweosome to not have to think about work and sorta get out of the bh.

n so the dreariness sets in.. now that all the fun and partying is over. m off to do work.

melbourne grammar social

was at the melbourne grammar social last night and the theme was 'outrageous'. couple of girls took it realli seriously and got realli dressed up. kudos to the swimsuits : tess, belle and sally. you guys looked realli hot and 'outrageous'. i didnt get dressed up as much as u noe.. i was gonna be formal date hunting..but dat proved pretty unsuccessful as a lot of the guys were like younger.. so u noe.. dey were wot.. bryan's age. eep :/ i did think rory was pretty hot tho. but nah.. didnt get to talk to him much. the music played was so-so.. dere were good and bad tracks but i guess the vibe all around wasnt all dat bad. esp when it started getting darker and evrything.

omfg. some random dude frm like papua new guinea started feeling me up on the dance floor when i started being a little friendly. dude. friendly does not = invitation to feel me up. it was like he suddenly had like 8 arms or sumthin and was all over me. ick. gotaway as soon as i can and avoided him for the rest of the night. dere was another desperate dan who went around soliciting girls for his so called term break 'party'.lol. he was quite a loser and i actually felt sorri for him. he spoke to like, nat, lyn, me, and countless other girls.

i guess as social experiences go.. this could have been much better. hmm. i realli hope adrian doesnt back out on me. must go shopping for formal dress. soon.

sall and belle- our swim suit girls. they actually rocked up in fluro leotards. pretty spunky

tess and i- tess was part of the swimsuit trio

at the tram stop.isnt emma's wig funky ass? daph has sumthin similar in blue.

anyways.. tat's all the pics i have for now which im willing to put up. my stupid camera died on the way to the social so i dun actually have any pics at the social itself. :(

its raining soo heavily that i just wanna go sleep. man. so much work. speaking of which im realli scrwed for the world lit cuz i havent done anything n teh draft is due like the following week. went to allan's wif lyn and tash just now and also to bob stuart's to finally get my blazer done. twas raining so heavily dat we decided to have tea and wait for the rain to subside. it didnt and we ended up catching a taxi back home. was very cold while waiting for our taxi. a nice change frm the heat of last nite tho. ended sleeping in undies oni last night. >:)

drowning in deadlines

okies.. for some reason dat just published without me even begining to post anything.

so yea. neways, today was yr 12 reflection day. which wasnt too bad actually. we did the walk first, followed by the talk and then the reflection. which was pretty allrite the way it was arranged. i thought the walk was the most inspiring and dat samara was realli good. in fact i liked her the best. so yea.. we were basically taken round the block frm where collin's street is, which is all posh and lined wif LV, Tiffany & Co, Bang & Olufsen, The Westing and other swanky high rises and corporate offices to the nearby back alleys where the homeless shoot up heroine and all manner of drugs, get drunk, throw up, piss, and basically hide from the swankiness of collin's street. it was just such a change to be in one world and then a diff one the very next. so yea hands on learning or rather watching it was. we were also taken down to credo cafe which is run by urban seed and basically is a safe haven tucked away in a little alley of collin's where they serve ppl meals FOC. te work that they did realli did strike a chord within me as it wasnt as if it was a welfare/ charity system.. u noe.. just a bunch of ppl hu got togethr and started cooking for the ppl of the streets which in a sense is realli heartwarming as they were treating these ppl like ppl and not charity cases. i think it was particularly meaningful to be returning to this place today and being told about wot they did and all dat when we actually went and donated food frm the boarding hse last year during celebration evening. we had heaps of packed lunches and nobody was taking them and so we decided to bring them to this place instead of chucking them out as suggested by last yr's yr 12s.

the reflection session was pretty good too. but i thought the talk wasnt all dat great. they kept on going on about how we're all worth more than our enters and all dat but i just thought that it made it all the more stressful as i just kept on thinking about my enter and the whole lot. and i reckon it just pretty much freaked me out. i mean.. they're telling is that its ok to stuff up. dat its not the be all and end all. but i dunno. this just seems to drive home the fact that this is that important. which it is. oh man. it just so is!!! this determines every bloody thing that i do with the rest of my life. having met with the careers councellor on mon.. ive just realised how bloody high i have to aim for to say get into my dream course. omg. and listening to some of the ppl talk today.. ive realised that ive always wanted to noe wot i wanted to do with my life.. but at this moment i guess im just not very sure anymore. like i mean i probs will be able to cope but in terms of self fullfillment, would it be enuf? im not as shallow as i seem i guess. i do want to give some back to the community you noe..

point is i dunno.. it just seems so overwhelming rite now. having got to make these decisions.. when i well friends back home dont have to. dun get me wrong guys.. im not being resentful or anything.. just a little envious at times.rite now.. i just feel like thing's are moving waay too fast for me. im scarreedddd.

on another note. my awesome awesome friends here got me tix to go watch the lion king on the 31st of march. whee!! we went to check out the regeant threatre today cuz i realli wanted to go see it and before i knew it they were like steph, we're paying for your ticket. i was like noo waaayy. its soo expensive. but they did anyway and i lurve them!!! i mean its like 100 aussie for one ticket and dat makes it close to wot 300 bucks back home split between i dunno 4 ppl is shit loads. but yea.. spoke to mommy about it and i'll be throwing an awesome dinner party for the couple of us next friday. not sure where we're going yet. i shud call up grecco.. dat place is pretty kewl.

oso.. brekkie at tiddeman was fun. uppie was so popular and so was mr girvan. and den dere was bernie whom i swear is hot. lol. oh and i found out mrs wallington has a son in yr 12 and dat means it adds to my lil portfolio of teacher's sons. god ur so sad steph. perving on teacher's kids whom youve never actually met.

OMG!!! STEFF NG. you never told me you got wif KOK SHIN. you guys must be sooo cute togethr.i had to hear it frm yanni. pffft.

Queenscliff

the bio excursion was realli realli good. it seemed like the best educational excursion i had ever went on. yea.. i actually learnt stuff this time around. lol.

7.15 am

fi thought the bus was leaving frm fitzwilliam and so we went up to the top of the school all pumped for the excursion onli to find that there was noone there but mr mac waiting for us. i knew he said down the bottom. i was soo sure. but anyways.. yea.. he must have known there would be dim-wits like us who would have gotten the simplest of instructions wrong. was late as usual in true boarder fashion. realli, when we live in school ud expext us to be on time for any school related stuff. nope.

2 hours later

and a very long and boring bus ride..during which i slept most of the way.. we reached queensciff. was taken straight to the coastal area/ beach / barwon heads and introduced to out guide person for the day janice. were split into 2 groups. weather was awesome.. sea was soo blue.. tide was fairly high and waves were awesome. we didnt get to go splash around in the sea. yet. were shown various moluscs and sea creatures residing in the rocky areas. there were so many of them including little starfish. there were barnacles, periwinkles, sea anemones, mussels, chequerboard snails and heaps of other little creatures. hah. the best part was towards the end of out time at the beach was able to identify most of the little creatures. there were so many barnacles at some of the higher rocky areas which was simply awesome as our (lyn and i and coincidentally heaps of other ppl) chosen crustacean was the barnacle . yes they are crustaceans. did our quadrat counts pretty quickly and headed of to the marine centre for some lunch, lab classes and snorkelling.

Lunch

had a picnic lunch outside the marine centre. everyone brought heaps of food. i brought paper cups as someone was bringing cordial. but we didnt end up using them. oh well.

Marine Centre

attended a lab class where we got to play around wif tube worms and kill them in order to 'get the sperms working'. yea apparently they release their gametes onli when they are about to die. was rather fun. rather amazing to see so many creatures live in such an enclosed little space. as we sliced the choral bits open, so many little creatures started swimming out. after that we were taken to their indoor rock pool thingo where we could touch and handle the various creatures. the crabs and starfish (btw they call them seastars here) and the jelly like plant things were all awesome.

SNORKELLING

finally like the super highlight of the trip. the bus came to get us frm the marine centre and drop off the other group to do their lab work and took us to the jetty area where a boat was waiting to take us out to sea. oh man. excitingness it was. reached there.. suited up fairly quickly as my wetsuit seemed to fit on fine.. altho cant say the same for the other girls.. as i reckon a lot of the suits they had were for men and thus were rather big waist up. flippered up and got my snorkle goggles and mouthpiece going and on board the boat it was. got horrible wet on the boat as the sea spray came directly at pip, sarah and i. got to the little enclosed area in the middle of the sea. there were heaps of these fishing birds ( i cant remember wot they're called) but yea. bottoms in we were and into the deep blue ocean we went. the currents were rather strong today and so we didnt quite leave our not-so-little enclosure. there was still heaps of marine life anyways. saw heaps of fish and tried to dive in after them but was kept buoyant by wetsuit. hmmph. also saw a sting ray which was pretty kewl. to greatest dissapointment didnt see any sharks, even tho we were 'told' there would be some. bah. but yea.. it was realli fun and we were in the water for about 4o minutes. was getting rather cold. just as well we had wetsuits that kept us fairly insulated. oni went in bathers in bali and fed the fish there. waters here were much clearer here but the marine life in bali i thought was better. but anyhoos... t'was a very enjoyable snorkelling experience.

5-ish

towelled of and changed into clean clothes and went to pick up the others for dinner. stopped in the small town in queenscliff and had awesome fish and chips. ohh they were soo good. but the chips were rather salty and im feeling realli dehydrated now. despite drinking like a camel.

2 hours later

and another realli boring bus ride back, during which i also slept heaps but got realli cold and woke up quite a lot cuz the girls at the back were making quite a ruckus..we're back at MLC.

i want to become a marine biologist. i actually did seriously consider that during the lab class. well i definetly want to go snorkel down at the great barrier reef. me likey the sea. a pisces through and through. like seriously.. water is soo many element. i feel reali comfortable in water, the sea, u name it. oh and yes i intend to get my scuba diving license when im rich enuf to afford the lessons.
